Baby Nursery Decorating

Carefully chosen baby furniture will surround your baby in comfort and should be the first step in decorating baby nurseries

Your baby furniture, from cribs to cradles, should be chosen with form and function in mind.  When decorating baby nurseries these tips will help you to choose your baby furniture;

cribs - make sure that the crib you choose is certifiably safe for your baby.  The baby crib will be one of the largest pieces of baby furniture in the room so it is a good place to start your nursery theme.

Baby will use the crib for 2 or 3 years but if longer term usability is important to you then pick one of the many convertible cribs on the market.  These baby cribs work for baby , toddler and young child with just a few quick  changes.

changing tables - again safety is very important here.  Make sure the table you choose has safety straps and rails to keep baby on the table while you are changing diapers.  A nice cushy changing pad will keep baby comfortable.

storage - determine how much storage you need and pick baby furniture such as armoires, dressers, blanket chests and toy boxes

seating - when decorating baby nurseries don't forget a place for mom or dad to sit.  A comfy chair or glider rocker will be invaluable for those late night feedings or when singing a lullaby to baby.

flooring - while wall to wall carpeting is a soft place for toddlers to crawl - if you have a choice wood flooring with an area rug is a better bet.  Wood floors are easier to clean and will not harbor as many germs.
